Job Details

Responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Supervise daily work of leads and custodians; inspect all assigned areas daily to ensure work is being carried out properly and orderly

Evaluate the performance of custodial personnel; prepare and submit disciplinary actions and incident reports; counsel employees

Hold daily staff briefings to cover key topics for the day as required and ensure staff has a clear understanding of responsibilities and has tools and equipment needed for their job

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to designate shift and area of work assignments for custodians and lead personnel; conduct training
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in large or small-scale Janitorial activities of the service.
  • Thorough knowledge of methods used in the cleaning of a large or small facility
  • Knowledge of floor care (hard floor and carpeting)
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to operate and use tools/equipment for training purposes
  • Ability to make the most efficient use of personnel as instructed and can delegate tasks and assignments
  • Ability to train and manage a large or small group of employees
  • Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond using oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively independently or with a team
  • Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practice
